Visiting-information centers

Nowadays there are five visiting-information centers in the valley which carry out ifferent functions.

1. The regional visit-center is located on the border line of the Tunkinsky region near the village of Shuluty. The center was founded both by the Municipial formation “Tunkinsky region” and the State National park “Tunkinsky”. The Centre is the branch of the municipial unitary informative-coordination enterprise “Istok”.
The centre carries out the following functions:

• makes the registration of all citizens coming to Tunkinsky region for tourism, rest and treatment.
• collects fees for entrance of citizens and motor transport in the territory of the Визит-центрNational Park “Tunkinsky” N 110 adopted on August 3, 2004. The entrance is free for inhabitants of Tunkinsky and Okinsky regions of the Republic of Buryatia, inhabitants of the Sludyansky region of the Irkutsk oblast, the participants of GPW, soldiers-internationalists, disabled people, citizens with permits coming with the purpose of sanatorium treatment or on business trip to the organizations and offices of the region if they have business certificates, children under 14 years old, citizens and motor transport staying on the territory of the park within 24 hours;
• transfers the information about tourists and climbers making routes in mountain conditions to the Search and Rescue Service of the Ministry of Emergency Measures of RF in the village of Kyren;
• informs visitors about the rules working on the territory of the park and about the conditions of rest.

There is a control point of Road Patrol Service of MHA in the visit-Centre. No telephone yet.
The director of the visit-centre is Zurbakov Gombo Naidanovich.

2. The visit – centre of State National park “Tunkinsky” is located in the building of the Administration of National park in the regional centre – Kyren. The visit –centre is the branch of the department of recreation of the national park.

The centre carries out the following functions:

• informs the visitors about tourist resources, tourist routes and sights of the national park;
• organizes tourist trips and excursions;
• arranges accommodation in its boarding house in Khongor –Uhl, and in the premises of visiting centres in Arshan and Vyshka (Tower) used as hotels.

The head of the centre of the department of the recreation department of the national Park is Sushkeev Sergey Matveevich.

Tourist-excursion routes of the centre are the following:

•  “Shaman tour”, a 4-days bus tour including bus traveling and hiking, tourists visit the Arshan datsan, cult places of “Bukhaa-Noyon” and “Burkhan-Baabay”, the volcano “Shandagatay” and historical-nature museum in the village of Khoytogol.
•   “Follow the river of Kyngyrga”, a 5-days hiking with a guide, living in the tents and visiting the Arshan datsan andd the resourt of Arshan.
•   “Around the national parks of the Baikal – Sayan – Khubsugul region”, a 5-days bus traveling including an excursion programme and visiting the resort of Arshan, the Arshan datsan, water-cure places in Zhemchug(“Pearl”) in Vyshka and the lake of Khubsugul in Mongolia. The visa is necessary for transition of the Russian-Mongolian border.
•   “A gold grain”, a 7-days bus-foot traveling with a guide, residing in tents some part of traveling, visiting the resort of Arshan, the Arshan datsan, cult places of “Bukha-Noyon”, “Tamkhi-Baryasha”, the deposits of apatite, water-cure places in Zhemchug (Vyshka), a solar observatory in the v. Mondy, the tops of Malakhy-Daban and the deposites of chrysotile – asbest.
•   “Tunkinskaya Switzerland”, a 14-days bus traveling including a 7-days horse route and residing in tents, visiting cult places “Tamkhi-Baryasha”, “Burkhan-Baabay”, the unique valley of Shumak and its sources and taking baths.
• "To the top of Munko-Saridak”, a bus-foot traveling with ascension the highest point of Eastern Siberia – the peak of Munko-Saridak.

3. The tourist – information centre “Altan – Mundarga” in the resort of Arshan is the Municipial unitary enterprise created by the Municipial formation “Tunkinsky region”.

The centre carries out the following functions:

• Informs visitors about tourist resources, sights, rest camps and boarding houses in the resort of Arshan and its vicinities;
• Organizes tourist trips and excursions including Tunkinsky valley;
• Realizes tickets for minibuses following the route Arshan – Irkutsk;
• Reserves places in the boarding houses and in guest houses of the inhabitants of the village of Arshan;
• Sells information and tourist literature, some goods for tourism.

The tourist –excursion routes of the centre:

• Arshan – Gornoye (Mountain) Lake, a 10-hours foot route, including ascension 1776,5 m high visiting theeee mountain lake;
• “A sightseeing tour around the resourt of Arshan” , a 3-hours foot trip;
• “The Zhemchug Sources”, a 3,5-hours bus trip, including visiting springs and taking baths;
• “The volcanoes of the Tunkinsky valley”, a 1,5-hours trip with the visit of the largest volcano among 9 ones in the Tunkinsky valley – the volcano “The Talskaya vershina” (“The Talsky top”);
• “The White Irkut”, a 10-hours bus trip with the visit of the confluence of the White and Black Irkut, the volcano “Temelik”, the survey of the panorama of the mountain unit Munku – Saridak.

4. Nowadays the visit –centre in the resort of Arshaan of the State National Park “Tunkinsky” works as a small hotel.

5. The visit – centre in the place of Vyshka of the State National Park “Tunkinsky” works as a small hotel.
