International Economic Conference «Siberia and Far East in Global Development», July 8-10, 2009

Republican Agency on Tourism (Buryatia, Russia) would like to invite you to participate in events that will take place in Ulan-Ude on July 2009.
International Economic Conference «Siberia and Far East in Global Development», July 8-10, 2009. This conference is held under the auspices of Baikal Economic Forum and is organized by the Federation Council of Russia and Government of Buryatia. During the conference, plenary sessions, presentations of investment projects, round tables on such topics as economic development of the region and environmental protection will be held. As part of the conference, Regional Investment Forum will take place, with International Scientific Conference “Sustainable Development of Tourism: Strategic initiatives and partnership” on July 9-11, 2009. The scope of the conference will include discussions of problems and trends of sustainable development of tourism, ways of government support and government-business relation in tourism.
During this conference, “Tourism and recreation in Buryatia -2009” Fair will be held on July 8-10. For the first time the Fair’s location will be an Ethnographic Museum of Buryatia. Presentations of local tourist resources will alternate with performances of local folk bands. At the night of the fair, participants will have a chance to become a part of “Yohor Night” Festival (Yohor is a national Buryat circle dance).
In addition to that, on Lake Baikal the following events will take place:
- Presentation of a special economic tourist zone “Baikal Harbor” (Pribaykalskiy area of Buryatia, Turka village).
- Submersion of MIR submersibles (as part of the expedition «Mir» On Baikal, www.baikalfund.ru).
