National Tourist Offices Representatives Association (ANTOR) by the decision of convention from 19 November 2009 resolved that National Agency for Tourism to be awarded with ANTOR prize as the best regional administration for tourism in Russia.

Lake Baikal is a beautiful place, but the welcome people and their hospitality was second to none. From a Rural Tourism International perspective we are looking forward to developing further contacts with partners in Buryatia and indeed Russia. I will also keep you informed about our potential project which will provide further opportunities for RTITN members to become actively involved as trainers.

During this week, the film crew of the TV Company “Russia Today” was making reports about Buryatia, its life and culture of local population, present development of the industry, agriculture, about Lake Baikal, future tourism development and Buddhism.

Winter fishing on Baikal Competitions on winter sports fishing «Barguzinsky fishing-2009» will take place on lake Baikal in settlement Ust-Barguzin (district Holodjanki) on April, 10-11th.

Competitions on cross-countries «the Baikal ski marathon» will be spent on ice of the lake Baikal on March, 29th, 2009. Start is planned in 11:00 hour. From Severobajkalska to sanatorium Hakusy.
